Prophets for Profit!
There is no doubt that we are inundated with prophets for profit in every spectrum of life. If we observe the arenas of politics, economics, the social order, and religion, one will find these charlatans busy separating the people from their money; and make them feel good while robbing them blind.
Prophet: inspired man (good or evil), predictor, prognosticator, speaker, or one that documents his/her views.
Profit: valuable, benefit, gain, superiority, or plenteousness.
The question one must ask, is the prophet one of truth or deceit? Is the prophet sincerely expounding truth or is he merely interest in profit or gain? Scriptures tell us that we shall know them by their fruits/works and/or by their spirit/mind. Sooner or later the lips will always reveal the mind. Likewise, the eyes are the mirror of the soul. Yes, we believe that a child of God will know and recognize the false prophets.
We believe that the false prophets emphasize their pronouncements by dramatization, sensationalism, and alarmism. The best way to separate people from their money is to scare the Hell our of them. The art of causing excitement, startling, thrilling, shocking, and especially melodramatic details are the tools of success. This is all the result of the ignorance of the victims. We read in Ecclesiastes 1:9-10:
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.
We believe that the most sensational, thrilling, exciting, startling, and shocking book/information that we can partake of is the searched and researched Bible. Then we will separate the wheat from the chaff, and the truth and information will be revealed for us to know and understand. There is nothing new in any of the publications or preachments under the sun. Yet today the art and techniques of publishing and preaching are a multi-billion dollar growth industry in the world.
This should not be necessary, if only Yahwehs children would invoke their God given intellect, and heed the admonitions of HIS Word. Yahweh has given us the tools whereby we can establish our own individual relationship with our Creator. We do not need the prophets for profit.
If we read the end times prophecies of Jeremiah concerning prophets, we believe one can be enlightened. For we read in Jeremiah 23:21-32:
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; Which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal. The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their tongues, and say, He saith. Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
When we think of prophets, we are prone to think of the religious arena and rightfully so. But we also must realize that these false prophets are also found in the arenas of politics, economics, and the social order. How many solicitations do you receive every week asking for a contribution to save you from some great disaster?
We receive at least a half dozen solicitations every week asking for money so that some great humanitarian cause can be launched against some real or imaginary evil. Following are just a few, that we are sure you are familiar with:
1). Citizens Against Government Waste;
2). National Right To Work Foundation;
3). Traditional Values;
4). Border Watch  Illegal Aliens;
5). National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare;
6). We The People;
7). The National Right to Work Committee;
8). Buchanan For President;
9). End Notch Discrimination;
10). Americans To Limit Congressional Terms;
11). Concerned Women for America;
12). Balanced Budget Amendment;
13). Pro-Life, Pro-Choice Promotions, Multiple Promotions;
14). Pro-Gun, Anti-Gun Promotions;
15). Etc., etc., into bankruptcy.
Over the past thirty years we have never experienced of become aware of any of the aims/goals expressed by these solicitors ever reaching fruition. In fact, things just keep getting worse. What do these people do with the money the dumb Goy send them? You can be assured that man will never save this nation or the world. The prophets can write and preach from now until doomsday and they will not save this nation or world. The hope for the righteous man is found in Divine law and the researched Word of God. Dont look to these prophets for prophet to provide you with advice or answers.
If we consider scriptures, we can find no evidence of Yahshua the Christ or His disciples ever receiving any considerations beyond food and lodging for their service in prophecy and teaching. There certainly was no monetary gain evident. So we must ask the question: Is the truth or the Word of God for sale? Is it a commodity that can be traded on Wall Street?
The Scriptures tell us that a workman is worthy of his hire, but it seems that some of the proclaimed prophets of our day are much, much more worthy than are others. It is not for us to judge the costs of subscriptions, materials, books, and tapes that are being offered in the name of edification, but we can all see the wide differences in what these materials are being sold for. Unfortunately, it seems that the purveyors of these materials, that are the best salesmen, they are the ones that get the top price for their materials, publications, and preachments. We do not believe that a righteous sincere prophet will prophesy for gain.
The scriptures in Jeremiah chapter 23 do tell us that there are prophets that are legitimate and prophets that are deceivers. Thus it is up to you and us to relate these prophets to the word of God and determine which are the true prophets. For us, we do not want or need these prophets, for the word of God tells us that there is no new things upon this earth, what is, has been, and what has been, shall be.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. (Ecclesiastes 1:9-11)
If then we believe the words of God, why do we need man to tell us what is in the Bible? Cant we search it out for ourselves? Well, it seems obvious that the people do not want to exercise their intellect in order to search out the truth.
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (John 5:39)
Therefore, we do need the legitimate prophets that will spoon feed these people, but it should not be done for gain beyond the necessities of life.
Further, we believe that a righteous prophet should endeavor to make his/her prophecies available to as many people as possible and those that want it or will benefit from it. It is no secret that most sincere and patriotic citizens very often cannot afford to buy or subscribe to the costly publications/preachments being offered. Are we not interested in those people? Dont they deserve to read or hear the truth? If someone requests our materials we shall send it to them, with or without a contribution. Thank God, we do have contributors and supports that do help pay for those that can not afford to contribute. So we look to Yahweh for support but certainly not monetary gain. We believe that the righteous prophet will not lay up gain and profits here on earth but rather in the Kingdom of God.
Yahshua the Christ tells us, The truth shall make you free. And we believe that He meant that truth to be free and not for sale to the highest bidder.
Beware:
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
